Mare St Clinic are now offering COVID PCR Test to Release in East and West London. This test can prove essential for those who have to travel regularly for work. A negative result will cut out time spent self-isolating at home, so that you can get back to work as soon as possible.

The test is not suitable for those who have COVID-19 like symptoms, or for those who have had symptoms up to 28 days prior to the test – they should follow all government guidance regarding self-isolation and testing.

What is Test to Release?
​

If you have recently arrived from outside of the UK, current government guidance states that you must self-isolate for 10 days upon your return.
​
Our Test to Release Scheme offers you the opportunity to pay for a private COVID-19 test 5 full days after your UK arrival.
​
We use a PCR test, which has undergone testing by PHE and NHS Clinical pathology labs independently, and has obtained a specificity of 98% and 100% respectively. PCR stands for Polymerase Chain Reaction. The test directly detects the presence of the genetic material/antigens of the COVID-19 virus, indicating whether or not there is an active infection. This test does not detect the presence of the body’s immune response, or antibodies.

If your test comes back negative, you no longer have to self-isolate. However, if you test positive you must continue to self-isolate for another 10 days. This should be calculated as 10 days from when you took the test, or from when you first started to show symptoms, whichever came first.

Whether you're from Fulham, Hackney or Kensington, we offer two alternatives for TTR testing to suit you, so we can help you get back to business as usual. During weekday evenings we offer you the chance to purchase home testing, to bring your TTR test to you. If you are looking to get a COVID PCR Test to Release in East and West London during the weekends, we offer testing within the clinic.

How long does it take to get my results?
​
​
From the point of completing the test, it will take 24-36 hours from when the lab receives it to get your results. If your test is negative, you will be released from your remaining self-isolation period.
Before you get tested, we strongly advise that:

- A proof of identity will be required prior to having your sample taken. This can be an ID Card, Passport (required for travel certificate), driver’s license or residents permit. Unfortunately, we will not be able to assist you if you do not have any legal identification on you.
Nothing can go in your mouth for at least 2 hours prior to testing, this includes: food, drinks, cigarettes, chewing gum, etc.
- Mouthwash is not to be used for 24 hours.

- Nothing can go in your nose for at least 24 hours prior to testing, this includes: nasal medication, saline, hay fever sprays, cotton buds, etc.
All of the above can inhibit the sample and mean that it needs to be retested, or they may not enable a conclusive result to be delivered.
